A typical day... [26 Jan 2007|10:06pm] [ mood | sore ] So this is where I work: The Shop n' Save, but it really reads Shop'ns, as in 'Hey ma! I'm-a goin' shopns!' The sign has been like this for over a year now. Why bother fixing it? I work closing shift on Fridays and Mondays, due my my school schedule, which means I have to close down the bakery department. Usually I do this myself but since I started back for the third time I had a co-worker with me. Not like I needed any training, we just hung out really. The first thing I do is called 'the break-out', where I break out all the bread and shit that needs to be baked tomorrow. See, even though we're a bakery all of our bread and rolls and shit comes to us like this: Frozen into little balls or loafs and packed in a box. My job it to see how much we need for the next day and then lay all this frozen dough out on trays and stick the racks in the retarder (that's what it's callled!) so the baker can bake it in the morning. It's really not a bakery as it is a thaw-out-ery...or something. What's bad, though, is that only the Bakery and Deli department has a working freezer right now so all the ice cream is being stored in our freezer. This presents problems... This ismage does not communicate just how small our freezer is and how much ice cream is in there. The manager kinda flipped when he saw we had moved the ice cream out of the freezer for 30 minutes so we could get to our dough. He was all 'OMFG BACTERIA AND FOOD POISONING!' It was a bit comical actually. Donuts! After all that's done, I get all the donuts in the case and then package them in boxes and sell them at half price because they're old. We don't even fry our donuts, they come pre-fried and frozen... complete with the glaze on them. Ech... The other girl I was with was cleaning out all the shit from the shelves and found this tub of old icing someone had forgotten there. Can someone say 'deer pellets'? Another thing I do is crush the boxes in the bailer. Here's a lovery warning sign on the machine's gate: I just love stuff like that. I didn't get too many pictures because I was working with someone else and I feel all odd taking pictures of random bakery scenes in front of people. Hell, it's probably illegal too... But I'm worn out and tired. My back hurts from mopping. I smell like icing. I hate cookies. Hate them. 5 cake orders|Donuts are self-serve

Genesis [23 Jan 2007|09:02pm] [ mood | blah ] [ music | "Malicious Fingers" Snappleman ] Okay, so this is my first entry however I have no pictures or funny stories to tell you as of yet. I don't head back to work till Friday, so expect an update sometime during the weekend. I will probably take pictures only when I'm closing unless something funny happens during my day shift days. Who the hell knows... So yeah, gimme a few weeks before I start with the custom images and such. Banners and avatars. This is also open to the public, so tell your friends...
